I am the Commercialization Lead and sometimes a materials researcher there. 

We are launching a new domestic anode material called Obsidia.  It's not silicon...it holds 2-3x as much lithium as silicon, but swells less than graphite(!).  It also, when used as a 10% additive, greatly increases the battery lifetime under deep cycling (even down to 1.0V), vastly increases the shelf life of the battery, and makes NMC-graphite-Obsidia batteries signficantly safer under low charge, long shelf life, and deep-cycling use.
