Really thrilled to be a co-chair of this community and support with members' workforce development work and needs.
I'm Jill Pestana, founder of Pestana Solutions, strategic advisory firm helping battery and high tech companies figure out their market postioning, messaging, and strategy and carry that out to build trust with investors, partners, customers, and other key stakeholders. I also serve as Director of Research and Programming at NAATBatt, producing and hosting the BattChatt podcast as wells as supporting member engagement and event planning. On the workforce development side, I am the creator of Nanoverse Battery Courses and the YouTube channel 'Across the Nanoverse', providing educational and professional development resources to support people in their battery careers.
Within this community, I'm leading a subcommittee in developing the Battery Workforce Framework, a database of the workroles and their skills, knowledge, and competence areas across the battery value chain. In this work, we are unifying information from DOE, Faraday Institute, Battery Workforce Initiative, and others into an open-source resource that can be used to support workforce development efforts, hiring, career planning, and more.
